Noah's Portfolio
This is a look at my work from television news to digital media. All of the content comes from my time as a news anchor/reporter and producer for AHS TigerLife and as the Communications Intern for Arlington Community Schools.
Reporting and Writing
Since a young age, I've had a passion for writing and storytelling. During high school, my main goal has been to become an effective storyteller. I've been able to learn the storytelling techniques of CBS News Correspondent Steve Hartman while still maintaining my own voice.
Editing, Leadership and Team Building
While I am an anchor/reporter for This is Arlington, I serve as the producer for our newscasts. This is a full newscast that I produced the A-Block of while reporting. I also oversaw the producers of the B and C blocks.

Web and Social Media
For my internship with Arlington Community Schools, I am tasked with creating content to appear on social media. I have complete control on what format the stories are in.
Design
I was tasked with developing a graphics package for our school's newscast, This is Arlington. I contacted an outside source to design the graphics, but I was tweaked the graphics to fit our needs and integrate them into our newscasts. I also created new camera shots that we now integrate on our shows.

Broadcast Journalism
These are my top anchoring and reporting moments from April 2024 - present day. The other link it the link to my 2025 Black History Month Show that I produced as well as a newscast that I produced the A and B blocks and supervised the sports producer on.
Photography
When I stared my internship in 2023, I had never taken a picture before on a DSLR camera with interchangeable lenses. I quickly had to learn how to take good photos and edit. I use a Sony camera and edit in Adobe Lightroom.
Law, Ethics and News Literacy
My besides crime being my favorite beat to cover, I also enjoy covering city/county, and state government. As I sophmore, I was the did a story on a bill that would take control of Germantown High School away from Memphis-Shelby County Schools and into the hands of the Germantown Municipal School District. The plan was for Germantown High School to eventually close. For this story I covered the legal ramifications of this bill but I also chose to allow students who attend GHS to voice their frustrations. I created a look live version and a did a live shot at our basketball game against Germantown High School. This story won Best Short Feature Story at the Tennessee High School Press Association in 2023.
During my senior year, I was the first student journalist to cover the Tennessee School Board Association Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. My school board chair was president of the organization. I mainly covered the delegate assembly where school board members discuss what policy they would like to lobby for with lawmakers. A big topic that year was TN Governor Bill Lee's school voucher plan. I covered this story in a long-form news package. Finally, for my senior year, I covered the cell phone bill that would ban phones in the classroom.
For some of my stories, I will tease what I am working on for social media. I have included an expample of what did for a strory on car break-ins that appeared on my Instagram story.
Marketing and Audience Engagement
For my internship, I am always are of my audience. Since Facebook is more of an older audience, I will talk in formal language. I tend to write more relaxed for Instagram. On the left side of the page, is an example of that for a story I covered on a pep rally at Arlington Middle School. Click the 'open the document directly' hyperlink to access the photo.
Commitment to Diversity
For my stories, I always try to make sure I represent all parts of the Arlington Community. For example, in this Instagram post, while we had an outside photographer take photos of our senior sunrise, I chose photos that represented our district in a positive light.

This year, I also produced and solo anchored our Black History Month Show. While I wish we could have covered months of other cultures, I am proud to have started this idea and hope that it continues once I graduate.
